KT and Me: A Kwanzaa Family Special
It's Day 3 of Kwanzaa
Today's #Artful8ths item is a cute cartoon story
It follows the adventures of a young boy and his Teddy Bear who teaches him about the principles of the Black American holiday celebration of Kwanzaa.
We thought that you might want to share with your family and friends regardless of race so that they and the children can better understand what Kwanzaa is.
Have you ever attended a private family celebration or a public community celebration of Kwanzaa in your city or town?

Winning Phipps Family Light Show - The Great Christmas Light Fight
Christmas Lights
Neighborhood Decorations Contest
I do love this time of year at night.
I love to see the streets with houses that are all decorated with Christmas lights.
Some cities & towns still do their streets with decorations but sadly not as many as there used to be back when I was a child.
When I was a child we used to get in the car as a family and my Dad would drive us around the near by city to go see how the people decorated their homes while listening to the radio station that was playing Christmas music.
Now in "modern" times although not as many people decorate with outdoor lighting those that do now have many updated electronics to use to make their homes stand out.
With my own children being grown and out of the house we don't decorate the house like I used to do (yes I was one of those who put up the tree in early November) but I do still enjoy looking at the homes that are decorated.
I've not yet come across the mega-decorated homes as showcased on TV but I do enjoy watching them on TV and videos.
Enjoy this mega-decorated home

GOTV CT 11-7-2017
Get Out the Vote CT on 11-7-17
Remember Next week Tuesday is Election Day.
We are less than a week away from this year's municipal elections. Many towns also have ballot questions that need to have a Yes or No Vote in addition to the candidates to be selected on the ballots so research that.
Have you decided upon who you will casting your votes this year? Have you researched any ballot questions as well?
Make certain to put on your calendar to get out to vote this year. Your Vote is Your Voice so if you're tired of increasing taxes and getting less services,
Election Day is the Day to make the elected officials hear your opinion... #MakeCityHallListen!

Write In Paul Panos for Board of Ed 11-7-2017
I'm not certain of the process to officially be a
"Write In Candidate" or how a draft campaign works
But I am going to write in Paul Panos
for the Windsor Board of Ed
Why you ask would I write in a candidate that dropped off the ballot... because I know that he cares about the education of our children and he is willing to fight for the wiser spending of our tax dollars at the Windsor public school system...
He was initially on the ballot but he stepped down because he had surgery that was preventing him from the campaigning around the town that needed to be done.
I'm writing in Paul Panos for Board of Ed
because I think that if enough of us do write him in,
now that he's feeling better and able to get around that
he will agree to serve for another term!
Help me test my theory and
Write in Paul Panos for Board of Ed on Nov 7th 2017!
We Need a CHANGE in WINDSOR!

Connecticut Attorney General weighs in on potential third casino
They keep pushing for a 3rd casino for our state...
What don't people understand about the Law of Supply and Demand?
The more of an item there is the less value it is so the costs and in this case PROFITS Go DOWN...
The problem with the east coast region is that there are way too many casinos within a few hours drive so there is no longer the profits that the 2 CT Casinos used to have because people are going elsewhere...
The elected officials are gambling with our future with a very losing hand...
